Every year, YC Lískovec organizes two Czech sailing championships, mid June "Windypoint regatta" for the high summer experience and "725 m above sea level" beginning of October for the "we sail in any weather" experience. One of the championships is designated for the RS Aero class, the other for RS 700. Often, we are joined by the Olympic 49er class. In 2026, an additional regatta is scheduled for the beginning of July to come up for a temporarily unavailable neighbouring club JK Černá v Pošumaví.

This event did see the greatest attendence so far: 60+ individuals coming from six countries, great winds, fair competion.

Communication using WhatsApp:
Join our WhatsApp group using the link announced in the NoR. We use it for important announcements from the Race Committee (e.g., “AP down”), the Organizing Authority (e.g., “warning signal for reception”), and fellow participants (e.g., “lost my sail bag”, "need dinghy park access code for early arrival"). There are no printed whiteboards; everything is online.
The venue:
Our clubhouse is located in the Šumava Nature Reserve (aka Böhmerwald) at the man-made Lake Lipno, near the Austrian and Bavarian borders. Consider taking a 20-minute drive and half a day to visit the enchanting medieval town of Český Krumlov (a UNESCO World Heritage site).
Early Arrival and Eating:
You are welcome to come earlier, before the scheduled regatta opening. We will open the dinghy park for you. Contact us via the Whatsapp group to request access. If you arrive in the evening, the nearby restaurants often take no more orders after 07:30 PM. You may try the restaurant Sen -- a reasonable distance and with good food. A delivery service Krmelec takes orders till 21:30, but we have not yet tested it with international guests.

Fair sailing:
This is actually the most important part. Whether competitive or free-style participants, all of us enjoy gentlemanly conduct both ashore and afloat. Our competitors are our best friends; while we don't give them a single point for free, we wish them their success. We don’t breach rules; if a rule is broken, we take the penalty and say a loud “sorry.” Since our first regatta in 2016, we haven’t had a single protest—and we’re proud of it.
Safety:
Safety comes first. A particular warning: watch out for gennaker sailboats, as they may fail to see you on downwind courses. Better to yield than to be sorry. Don't underestimate fatigue and chill, especially in the autumn months. You cannot beat it. Our sailing rules permit that you can reduce a race to just one lap.
Spare Ropes:
If you run out of ropes, do not be desperate. We have a fellow nicknamed Skin, who sells any ropes you may need.
Aero trolleys:
We’ll swap them during the competition. Just be sure to put your boat on an Aero trolley.
Aero handicap:
We sail all sail sizes at the start line and apply handicap.

“725” is named after our sailing club’s:
